Early Morning Swim

Swimmers pass the ray of light coming from the window in the Glen Forest Pool on Sunday morning. Although an early morning workout is EARLY, the sun streaming through the windows and into the water makes for a pleasant morning.

Club reaction to Pub Night announcement!

Members react to announcement of the upcoming pub night on Thursday. Pub nights are held on a regular basis so members can regain lost fluids during strenuous workouts – or so they say! See you there!

Icelandic <> Canadian members exchange exotic substances.

Icelandic Mississauga Masters swimmer Alan Mackay is caught on camera exchanging mysterious white powder for exotic herbs with fellow swimmer Doug Elsey during a recent visit by Doug to Iceland (where he was taking pictures of things blowing up for NATO Special Forces.)  Subsequent tests revealed that it “tastes like soap!!!” .. and ‘that stuff could pass for decent tea!” – totally destroying the theory of a clandestine life led by each!

Alan passes his best on to the members and certainly has an open invite to anyone from the club visiting Iceland – a REALLY neat place! (And Doug DID manage to get his washing  done too – and Alan now has 213 teabags to suck on over the winter months.)

First Practice Reminder

If anyone watched 'Shaq vs. Phelps' last night perhaps it motivated you to jump back in the water!
 
Our first practice of the 2009/2010 season will be this Sunday, September 20th at 7:45 AM.  All current team members are invited to come swim this week and hand in your registration papers in order to get the early registration discount.

EARLY Registration BBQ - and Early Registration.

Join us at Applewood Pool for a Swim & BBQ!

The Mississauga Masters Swim Team will host an 'Early Registration/End of Summer' BBQ on Tuesday Aug. 25th after practise at Applewood Pool. The rain date will be Thursday Aug. 27th.

All 2008/2009 team members are invited. Come out and join the summer crew for practice and/or BBQ at the pool afterwards. We will accept early registration forms and cheques. Practice will run from 7:00PM-8:00PM. BBQ will begin shortly after.

Louie will provide plates, napkins, drinks, and plastic cups. He is also looking into getting the grilling meat.

The rest of us are welcome to bring a salad dish or dessert.

Please reply to this message and let us know if you will be there and if you are going to bring a salad or dessert.

Applewood Pool is located at Dundas and Constitution Drive, west of Dixie.

Last Swim ... then BREAKFAST!!

This is the very first entry into the Splash Notes of the Mississauga Masters swim club. The last swim for the season will be this Sunday (June 28th.)
Breakfast will be at the Pump - you know - the nearly all you can stuff into your body for less than $5.00 WITH coffee.
